Garden Lighting in Lincoln

Path, step and feature lighting

Lighting planned in, not added on

The best time to light a garden is while it is being built. We run the cables under the paving and through the walls, so the only things you see are the lights.

Safe low voltage

12 volt systems, with the transformer in a dry spot you can reach.

Cabled during the build

Cables run in ducting under paving and decking before the surface goes down.

Path, step and uplights

Deck lights, step lights, wall lights and spotlights for trees and walls.

Switch or app control

Lights split into zones, run from a switch, a timer or your phone.

Light for using the garden after dark

Good lighting starts with the routes. We light steps, paths and changes in level first, so the garden is safe to walk round at night. Then we add light where you sit: warm strips under benches and planters, wall lights on screens and festoons on pergolas.

Everything is low voltage and split into zones, so you can light the patio for dinner and leave the bottom of the garden dark.

Light for looking out at the garden

In winter you see your garden through the window far more than you sit in it. A few uplights on a tree, a wall or a water feature give you something to look at from the kitchen on a dark evening.

We test the positions at dusk before we fix them, so the light lands where it should and does not shine into anyone's eyes.

Why Fosse & Fen

What you can count on

Three promises we make to every customer, written into every quote.

A fixed quote, in writing

The price we give you after the 3D design is the price you pay. If we find something underground that nobody could have seen, we stop, show you, and agree any change before we carry on.

A tidy site, every day

We protect your drive and lawn, keep materials stacked in one place and sweep up before we leave each evening.

Owen on every job

Our founder visits every site during the build as well as at the quote. If something needs deciding, you are talking to the person who can decide it.

What our customers say

They dug out the whole back garden and had the patio, lawn and lighting finished in four weeks. The 3D drawing meant there were no surprises. It looks exactly like the drawing.

FAQs

Garden Lighting questions

If your question is not here, call us on 01632 960418.

Ask us a question
Can you add lighting to an existing garden?

Yes, though it is easier and neater during a build. In an existing garden we can usually run cables through borders and along walls, and lift a few slabs where we need to cross a patio.

Is low voltage garden lighting safe?

Yes. A 12 volt system runs from a transformer that our qualified electrician connects to the mains, so the cables in the garden carry a low, safe voltage.

How much does garden lighting cost to run?

Very little. Modern LED garden lights use a few watts each, so an evening of lighting for a whole garden costs pennies.

Can I control the lights from my phone?

Yes. Most of the systems we fit can be split into zones and run from a switch, a timer or an app on your phone.

What happens if a light stops working?

The lights carry the maker's warranty, and the installation is covered by our 10-year workmanship guarantee. Call us and we will come out and sort it.
