Driveways in Lincoln

Block paving and resin bound

Driveways built from the ground up

A driveway is only as good as what sits underneath it. We dig out, lay a compacted sub-base and sort the drainage before any paving goes down. Front driveways start from £6,000.

Full dig-out and sub-base

We dig down to firm ground and lay compacted MOT Type 1, so the surface does not sink or rut.

Drainage that meets the rules

Permeable paving, soakaways or channel drains, so your drive meets the rules for front gardens.

Block paving or resin bound

Tumbled or smooth blocks in any laying pattern, or a resin bound finish in the colour you pick.

Kerbs, edging and borders

Contrasting border courses, kerbs and planting beds, set out to suit the front of your house.

Block paving that suits the house

Block paving gives you the most choice. We lay tumbled blocks for older properties and crisp, smooth blocks for newer ones, in herringbone, stretcher bond or circles, with a contrasting border to finish the edge.

A typical double driveway takes around a week to ten days. We dig out, set the kerbs on a concrete haunch, lay and compact the sub-base, screed the sand bed, lay the blocks and brush in kiln-dried sand. You can park on it the day we finish.

Resin bound for a smooth, joint-free finish

Resin bound is natural aggregate mixed with clear resin and trowelled by hand into a smooth, porous surface. Rainwater drains straight through it, so a front driveway in resin usually needs no planning permission.

We lay it on a new base, never straight over old tarmac that is already cracking. Once the base is ready, the resin goes down in a day and you can walk on it the next morning.

What you can count on

Three promises we make to every customer, written into every quote.

The price we give you after the 3D design is the price you pay. If we find something underground that nobody could have seen, we stop, show you, and agree any change before we carry on.

A tidy site, every day

We protect your drive and lawn, keep materials stacked in one place and sweep up before we leave each evening.

Owen on every job

FAQs

Driveways questions

If your question is not here, call us on 01632 960418.

Ask us a question
How much does a new driveway cost in Lincoln?

Most of our front driveways start from £6,000. The final price depends on the size, how much we need to dig out, the drainage and the material you choose. After the free design visit you get a fixed quote, so the price will not creep up during the job.

Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?

Not usually, as long as the surface is permeable or the rainwater runs onto a lawn or border inside your boundary. Resin bound and permeable block paving both meet the rules. A new dropped kerb is a separate application to the county council, and we can help you with it.

How long does it take to lay a driveway?

Most driveways take five to ten working days. The dig-out and sub-base take the longest. You get a start date and a plan before we begin, and we keep part of the drive usable where we can.

Should I choose block paving or resin bound?

Block paving is easier to repair and gives you more patterns to choose from. Resin bound gives a smooth surface with no joints for weeds to grow in. We show both on the 3D visual so you can compare them against your own house.

What does the 10-year guarantee cover on a driveway?

Our workmanship, including the sub-base, edging and laying. If the drive sinks, a block rocks or the edging moves because of how we built it, we come back and put it right at no cost.
